50 full scholarships for Climate Friendly Travel Diploma

SUN^x Malta, sup­por­ted by Malta’s Min­istry of Tour­ism and Insti­tute of Tour­ism Stud­ies, is offer­ing 50 full schol­ar­ships for the 2023 intake of its two-year online Cli­mate Friendly Travel (CFT) Dip­loma; one schol­ar­ship for each of the 39 SIDS (Small Island Devel­op­ing States) plus 11 oth­er devel­op­ing coun­tries around the world.

The unique course trains stu­dents to sup­port travel & tour­ism com­pan­ies and com­munit­ies in becom­ing sus­tain­able and cli­mate-resi­li­ent. Stu­dents will under­stand how to achieve Zero GHG emis­sions by 2050 and how to adapt to extreme weather.

The CFT Dip­loma pre­pares stu­dents to help build Cli­mate Friendly Travel Com­munit­ies, and for jobs in travel & tour­ism, includ­ing sus­tain­able trans­port, hos­pit­al­ity, des­tin­a­tion man­age­ment, gov­ern­ment ser­vices, and many others. 

Stu­dents will under­go 300 hours of online learn­ing with some of the lead­ing aca­dem­ic and industry experts in the world, fol­lowed by a 12-month intern­ship as a Strong Cli­mate Cham­pi­on and Nation­al Chapter Leader.

In addi­tion to being a gradu­ate from an eli­gible coun­try who is flu­ent in Eng­lish, the ideal can­did­ate must be able to com­mit to two years of online engage­ment and be ready to work with SUN^x to help build and/or advance a Cli­mate Friendly Travel Chapter in their country.
